Dan Schulman

Dan Schulman is a Managing Partner at Valor Capital Group, and a board member of Verizon, Cisco, Lazard, and the Cleveland Clinic.  Dan previously served as CEO of PayPal for nine years, where he tripled revenues from $8 billion to $30 billion, doubling market capitalization, and tripling free cash flow from 1.4B to $5B annually. Under his stewardship, PayPal’s customer base expanded to 435 million worldwide, and payment volume quintupled to $1.5 trillion.

Before his tenure at PayPal, Dan served as Group President at American Express, the founding CEO of Virgin Mobile (acquired by Sprint Nextel Corporation), President and CEO of Priceline Group, Inc. and spent 18 years at AT&T.

Dan’s leadership has received numerous accolades, including ranking third on Fortune’s list of the World’s Greatest Leaders, three consecutive appearances on Fortune’s Top 20 Businesspersons of the Year list, Fast Company’s Top 100 Most Creative People, and Glassdoor’s Top 50 CEOs.

Dan has also received numerous awards for his commitment to social change and economic empowerment, including the 2020 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award, the 2021 Frederick Douglass Award from the New York Urban League, and the Voices of Solidarity Award. In 2021, he was knighted and awarded Luxembourg’s Order of the Oak Crown honor, presented by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. In 2024, he received his second knighthood as a Chevalier in the French Legion of Honor.

Dan is actively involved in the World Economic Forum, as a member of the International Business Council, and the Board of Governors and Board of Stewards for the Future of Financial & Monetary Systems platform. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Business Roundtable and is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
