Milken Institute Global Investors' Symposium – "Building Bridges: Pathways to Inclusive Growth"

On October 24, 2024, the Milken Institute hosted its first large-scale event in Mexico at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City. The Global Investors’ Symposium brought together prominent executives, policymakers, and international investors for a day of impactful discussions about Mexico’s evolving investment landscape and its pivotal role in the Americas.

With the theme “Building Bridges: Pathways to Inclusive Growth,” the symposium spotlighted Mexico as a key nearshoring hub and a gateway to dynamic opportunities across Latin America. Participants explored the country’s rising prominence as an international investment destination, bolstered by geopolitical shifts, a scalable workforce, and growing connectivity with the United States.

Valor was proud to sponsor and actively participate in the symposium. Our Founding Partners, Ambassador Clifford Sobel and Scott Sobel, shared their expertise on two critical panels:

Investing in the Americas: A Conversation with US Senator Bill Cassidy
During this session, Ambassador Clifford Sobel joined Senator Cassidy to explore the importance of fostering economic partnerships across the Western Hemisphere. The conversation delved into initiatives like the Americas Act and their potential to drive innovation, create opportunities, and elevate the Americas on the global stage.

The Private Equity Edge
Scott Sobel participated in this engaging panel alongside leading investors, examining how private equity continues to serve as a catalyst for economic development. The discussion highlighted the unique challenges and opportunities in the current economic environment and the evolving private equity landscape in Latin America.

Engagement and Insights

The event provided an invaluable platform for the Valor team, including Partner Carlos Costa and Associate Fabiana Scionti, to engage with influential investors and innovative founders shaping Mexico’s growing tech ecosystem. Conversations during the symposium reinforced the importance of collaboration and strategic investments in driving sustainable growth across the region.

We extend our gratitude to the Milken Institute for organizing this landmark event and to all the partners, speakers, and attendees who made it such a success. As we look ahead, we are excited about the immense potential Mexico holds and remain committed to building bridges that foster innovation and growth across the Americas.
